TopBun: Unified Kitchen Queue

Wired the storefront, POS, and delivery aggregators into one synchronized kitchen queue — so an order from the app, the website, or an aggregator hits the line the same way and inventory stays accurate across every channel.

The Challenge

What we walked into.

Orders coming from the website, the POS, and three delivery aggregators — each with its own tablet, its own menu, and its own latency. Stock-outs propagated late, prep tickets jammed at peak, and reconciliations at end-of-day burned an hour of management time per branch.

The Approach

How we engineered the outcome.

One menu, all channels

Single source of truth for items, prices, and modifiers — pushed out to the storefront and every aggregator so menus never drift.

Unified kitchen ticket

All channels render to the same kitchen display in the same format, in the same order — the line stops caring where the order came from.

Live inventory + 86 propagation

When an item runs out, it's pulled from every channel within minutes; end-of-day reconciliations collapse to a single report.

The Outcome

What changed.

TopBun's kitchen runs on one queue, the menus across every channel match the kitchen reality, and the manager closes the day on one screen instead of five.
